Under Construction
Jeremiah 1:10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Salvation is a miracle. One day you are lost , the next day , a citizen in the kingdom. I think of how I came in. I had a lot to learn and a lot of growing to do and habits to break. As much as we want it to, things just don't fall off when you give your life, when you make Him Lord. I still had so much to deal with , addictions that needed to be broken, new habits to form, and a mind that needed to be changed. Our Pastors have said, that we get saved every day, as we decide to keep yeilding to growth and the discipline of the Lord .
As we talked on Wednesday, we got to encourage one of the saints who was watching over the new salvation of another. There seemed to be a bit of discouragement, as there was an understanding that "this one" had a long way to go.
Sister Chris described the process so well. She said that the growth process very much resembled a construction site. In the first days, it is not so pretty, but there is some demolition that needs to be done. It may be hard to watch , but before you can build, there is some tearing down that needs to happen. When the Lord spoke to Jeremiah, He told him the exact same thing! Root out, pull down, destroy and thow down. It all had to happen before there was any planting or building. The next day, as I drove to work, I passed a construction site on the road. The bulldozer was kicking up so much dust, I was glad I was in the car. That must be how it feels to be around those still rough around the edges, but we must not forget that we were all there, and are still there in some ways!
So be encouraged, those of you who are helping along new believers. It might not look pretty but as long as we keep our faith in the Master Builder , He will make everything Beautiful in it's time.
